THE IDEA IS TO EQUIPT CLASSROOMS WITH MORE PHYSICAL HANDS-ON FUN ACTIVITIES THAT ENHANCE CREATIVE THINKING, IN ORDER FOR IMPROVEMENT IN MOTIVATION AND WELL BEING.
many students in creative industries struggle to be creative! and this is the result of a lot of factors, however, the most important yet overlooked problem is that they are not original and/or closed-minded. students often look towards the saturated mainstream media works and forget to be original. mashup wants everyone express themselves and intuitively create things that only make sense to them.

I CAME ACROSS SEBASTIAN BERGNE’S work, AND FOUND IT INTRIGUING OF HOW HE WAS ABLE TO LOOK BEYOND EVERYDAY OBJECTS AND TURN THEM INTO A ENTIRELY DIFFERENT OBJECT WITH DIFFERENT USES. i wanted to turn this idea into a simple activity that could be seen in classrooms, helping students to be more creative and flexible, thus, mashup.

THE PROCESS WAS TEDIOUS FOR SOMETHING SO SIMPLE. I FIRST RESEARCH ON THE TOPICS: - INSPIRATION - HOW ENVIRONMENTS AFFECT MINDSET - CREATIVITY - AND DIVERGENT THINKING
I GATHERED IMAGES OF EVERYDAY OBJECTS AND EDITED THEM, I INITIALLY THOUGHT TO PRINT THE IMAGES IN COLOUR, HOWEVER, I REALISED THAT COLOUR WOULD CONSTRAIN THE USER FROM USING CERTAIN OBJECTS DUE TO THE COLOUR. SO GREYSCALE IT WAS. I THEN FIGURED TO CREATE A OPTIONAL GAME WITHIN THE ACTIVITY THAT INVOLVES PLAYING CARDS THAT PROMPT USERS TO CREATE A CERTAIN MASHUP.
